The George Gordon First Nation (GGFN) is seeking applications for casual Security Guard shifts. We welcome candidates who are committed to community safety, protection, and respectful engagement. In this role, you will help ensure the safety and well-being of GGFN residents, visitors, and property by patrolling assigned areas and the broader community.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Adhere to all established security, safety, and emergency procedures and protocols.
• Implement protective measures to safeguard property from theft, vandalism, fire, and other risks.
• Control access and conduct regular patrols of the community, buildings, and perimeters, noting and reporting any hazards, disturbances, or signs of criminal activity.
• Monitor surveillance systems and address or report equipment issues as needed.
• Observe traffic on designated roads and report any incidents or concerns.
• Identify, prevent, and respond appropriately to suspicious behavior within the community.
• Promptly document and report irregularities, incidents, observations, and relevant information.
• Manage volatile or emergency situations calmly, professionally, and in accordance with procedure.
• Maintain awareness of and effectively collaborate with local policing authorities and emergency services when required
• Be physically capable of performing all duties and using the necessary safety and security equipment.
• Carry out other related tasks as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Completion of a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
• A valid Saskatchewan Class Five (5) Driver’s License is considered an asset.
• Security guard certification and/or related experience will be considered an advantage.
• Willingness and ability to work night shifts.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and follow direction effectively.
• Knowledge and understanding of First Nations peoples, including cultures, communities, and governance structures.
