The 2026 BHP Jansen Project Scholarship Program is now open. Thousands of dollars are available to students from 30 communities and 6 First Nations in east-central Saskatchewan who are pursing post-secondary education this fall.
Applicants must meet criteria under at least one of the following pathways:
Pathway 1: Applicants from Eligible Schools and Communities
Annaheim, Bruno, Colonsay, Cudworth, Englefeld, Foam Lake, Holdfast, Humboldt, Imperial, Ituna, Kelvington, Lake Lenore, Lanigan, LeRoy, Middle Lake, Muenster, Naicam, Punnichy, Quill Lake, Raymore, Rose Valley, St. Brieux, Strasbourg, Viscount, Wadena, Wakaw, Watrous, Watson, Wynyard, and Young
Learners may apply under this pathway if they:
- Are graduating from Grade 12 in 2026, or completed Grade 12 (or equivalent) before June 2026;

Have been accepted into a post‑secondary education or training program for the first time beginning in Fall 2026;
- Are under 30 years of age as of June 30, 2026.
Required documentation:
- One academic document (high school transcript or Grade 12 certificate/equivalency);

Proof of acceptance into an eligible post‑secondary education or training program for Fall 2026;
- One letter of reference from a non‑family member.
Pathway 2: Members of Eligible First Nations
Beardy’s and Okemasis’ Cree Nation, Day Star First Nation, Fishing Lake First Nation, George Gordon First Nation, Kawacatoose First Nation, and Muskowekwan First Nation
Learners may apply under this pathway if they:
- Are a member of an eligible First Nation;
- Have been accepted into, or are continuing in, a post‑secondary education or training program during the 2026-27 academic year;
- Are 17 to 65 years of age as of June 30, 2026.
Required documentation:
- One academic document (high school transcript, post‑secondary transcript, or Grade 12 certificate/equivalency);
- Proof of acceptance or continuing enrolment for 2026-27;
- One letter of reference from a non‑family member;
- Proof of First Nation Membership
NEW* – Pathway 3: First Nations or Métis Applicants from Eligible Schools, Communities, or First Nations
Learners may apply under this pathway if they:
- Are a First Nations or Métis student living in or attending school in an eligible school, community, or First Nation, but are not a Band Member of one of the eligible First Nations listed above;
- Have been accepted into, or are continuing in, a post‑secondary education or training program during the 2026–27 academic year;
- Are 17 to 65 years of age as of June 30, 2026.
Required documentation:
- One academic document (high school transcript, post‑secondary transcript, or Grade 12 certificate/equivalency);
- Proof of acceptance or continuing enrolment for 2026-27;
- One letter of reference from a non‑family member;
- Proof of First Nations or Métis membership
