Medical Transportation Coordinator – Opportunity

George Gordon First Nation (GGFN) is seeking applications for a Medical Transportation Coordinator. Under the direction of the Director of Health Services, the coordinator will administer and coordinate medical transportation for all on-reserve George Gordon First Nation membership plus members of the community, as needed. They will develop and maintain good working relationships with medical facilities as needed, and the First Nation and Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB) help line.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Schedule medical appointments for the clients as needed with surrounding Doctor’s.
• Schedule clients for transportation of the medical van daily to ensure that it is utilized to its capacity.
• Provide certified medical attendance forms to all clients as needed, and support completing the forms.
• Ensure monthly medical logs are completed
• Provide all clients with the necessary documents and assistance as required and withing guidelines. Comply will all reporting requirements as outlined within agreements and for the Nation.
• Report and schedule regular maintenance on medical vehicles, ensure daily logs are maintained.

Qualifications:

• Business Diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Knowledge of FNIHB Medical Transportation Framework.
• Strong understanding of office management systems and procedures.
• Computer literacy, including working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email required.
• A strong understanding of First Nation issues and community practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
• Knowledge of provincial and federal structures including legislation, policies and programs relevant to First Nations people.
• Ability to perform all duties in accordance with related legislation.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Valid CPIC
• Previous community related experience is an asset.

Salary will be based on experience, training, and education
