During the November 2021 visit to GGFN, Dirt Divers CRM completed GPR surveys on Location A (south side of the school playground). On November 15, 2021, further surveys were halted due accumulating snowfall that was interfering with the ability to complete surveys accurately. It was decided that the consultant team would demobilize and wait to return when the ground was frozen, which would allow for use of equipment to clear snow. Since demobilization, AECOM has made the decision to complete the remaining GPR surveys with the assistance of Western Heritage Services Inc., located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Western Heritage will complete the GPR surveys on the remaining 3 locations (Location B, Location D and the newly added Wellness Centre.) starting on December 7, 2021, with a completion of December 10, 2021.
In consultation with the committee and Chief & Council the decision was made to add and remove a site to be searched. AECOM was notified that a new area known as the Wellness Centre has been suggested by the GGFN IRS Committee to investigate as part of the ongoing GGFN GPR Surveys. AECOM has reviewed the location provided and based on earlier visits to GGFN have confirmed that the Wellness Center is easily accessible to lay grids and complete the GPR surveys. The heavily treed area known as proposed Location C be removed from the scope of work and be replaced by the new area known as the Wellness Centre. The attached map shows the removed and added locations.
