The George Gordon First Nation Chief and Council are seeking Powwow Committee members to begin planning for our Annual Powwow Celebration for the 2025 Powwow Trail. This Committee will include the Council Portfolio holders who oversee the Cultural Portfolio.
Committee Structure:
- 3 – 5 Adult members (1 to be used as an Elder’s Helper – oskapewis)
- 2 kehteyak (Seniors/Elders – 65+)
- 1 Youth member
Qualifications of Members:
- Members must be Community Members of the Nation
- Members must have a strong interest or knowledge of our Traditional and Cultural values
- Members must have knowledge of financial planning needed to host an event of such importance
- Members must be willing to commit on a voluntary basis
